Hello! My name is Brandon, I did a lot of speech and debate junior year of high school (novice/first year in debate) than mainly judged senior year, I now look forward to encouraging and enabling the next generation to succeed.
How I judge:
Debate: I see who weighs, both an impact and why your impact is realistic. While I do make mental counters, I don’t let this affect the decision unless it is very even, I pay attention to holes in your argument, and the ship with least holes will float (team with least holes in arguments will win if impact there).
Speech: PIE: Either persuade, inform or entertain me with your speech. A good speech is easy to follow (clear path and things tie together), easy to hear (projected well) and easy to feel invested in (especially this, I want to see you care about your own speech).
My goal:
My goal is your success, and even if it doesn’t go well this time I want you to do better next time.
Please contact me with feedback on me as a judge (i want to learn and improve) or any questions you may have about me, your feedback, or to ask me some vague oddly specific question that is interesting.
My email is: [email protected]
